Leecheer's prototypes are typically manufactured using CNC Machining, SLA, SLS, Urethane Casting and sheet metal. Before manufacturing, it’s necessary to understand the purpose of the prototypes. In this way, the right material can be selected to achieve the function of the prototype. And the materials are decided by the designer, our company cannot decide which material to use.Only when we know the purpose of prototypes, we will advise you some processing methods to save manufacturing costs.

Prototype materials can be divided into CNC Machining materials, SLA and SLS laser processing materials, Urethane Casting processing materials and sheet metal prototype materials according to the processing methods.

CNC machining material

CNC Machining materials mainly include plastic and metal plates and bars. Plastic materials include ABS, PC, PMMA, PA, PE, PP, POM, PS, PEEK, PPS, PVC, PTFE, HDPE, bakelite and EPP chemical wood. Metal materials include carbon steel, copper (brass and copper), titanium alloy, aluminum alloy(6061, 6082, 2025 ,6061-T6, 5052, 7075), stainless steel(303, 304, 316). SLA,SLS material

The materials used in SLA laser rapid prototyping are Somos 14120, Somos 8000 and c-uv 9400. The commonality of these materials is that the material properties are similar to ABS.

Materials used for SLS powder sintering are Fp1230, Fs3400GF and Fs3200PA. Among them, Fp12300 and Fs3400GF are nylon materials containing a certain percentage of glass fiber, such as PA+30%GF. Fs3200PA is a pure PA material.

Urethane casting material

Although there are many different models of urethane casting materials, they are all PU materials that have similar properties to other different materials. When process more than 10 pieces of prototypes, we recommend the customers to tell us the name of the engineering materials, and the urethane casting material model is not needed.

PU-8098 --properties are similar to colored PC

PU-px527 --properties are similar to transparent PC

PU-px521 --properties are similar to transparent PMMA

PU-8400 --properties are similar to rubber

PU-6160LS--properties are similar to temperature resistant material 200℃

Sheet metal material

Commonly used materials for sheet metal processing are cold rolled plate (SPCC), hot rolled plate (SHCC), galvanized sheet metal (6061, 5052, 1010, 1060, 6063, etc.), stainless steel sheet metal (surface finish include mirror surface, brushed surface, matte surface). According to different product functions, the materials used are different. It is generally necessary to select materials from the use of the product and the cost of manufacturing.
